Hull City will be stepping out on the pitch to face Arsenal with a view of revenge for the FA Cup final loss, according to defender Michael Dawson.
The two teams have met each other thrice in this competition in recent times. Arsenal have come out successful on all occasions, but Hull City believe that they have a distinct advantage in this time around. The match will be played at the KC stadium, where Hull will receive a lot of support.
Further, the team will be aiming to use this match as a distraction from their poor form in the Championship.
After leading the table for quite a while, the club has slipped into the play-off places. There is a danger of Hull going down even further, but Dawson remains confident that the stadium will be able to witness Premier League teams every week from next season onwards. Only the top two places in the Championship qualify to the Premier league automatically while the next four have to go through a play-off, which is never a guarantee. For the time being, Hull will be focusing only on the FA Cup. Dawson has reminded the fans about the glorious days that the club has had in this competition in recent times.
“We certainly do have some history with Arsenal. The place will be rocking, hopefully the Premier League will be coming back to the KC and from next August we’ll have a Premier League team coming every single week. The FA Cup final gave a day out a few years ago, albeit the wrong result. It is a competition that we want to be successful in.But we also want to be in the Premier League and that’s the most important thing for us this season,” said the Hull City defender.
