Former Spurs captain Michael Dawson has tagged the proposed return of Gareth Bale a “Heroes Return” and further said that the Welsh Winger’s return will give Jose Mourinho side a massive boost and perhaps present an upturn in fortune to the side that opened that premier league campaign with a loss at home to Everton. The spurs icon said he is buzzing about Bale return to his former stomping ground.
The Welsh winger flew to the UK on Friday and was anticipated to hit Spurs Enfield training ground the same day to complete his loan switch from Real Madrid to Tottenham.
The Welsh winger left spurs in 2013 in search of silverware in the then world record £85million deal to Madrid. At the Bernabeu, Bale contributed to the winning of numerous titles including two La Liga titles and four UEFA Champions League trophies.
However, in recent seasons, the Welsh winger has fallen down the pecking order behind Eden Hazard, Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, Marco Asensio, and LukaJovic who are preferred behind Benzema under the current gaffer Zinedine Zidane with just 16 LaLiga appearances to his name last season.
Manchester United was said to be interested in his signature and he was even linked to China but according to the Welsh man agent Jonathan Barnet, Tottenham is where he wants to be.
Although he is not due to feature until late October due to the injury sustained in the recent international break while on duty for the Welsh national team, former captain Dawson is well beyond excited.
He is indeed hopeful that Bale will give struggling Tottenham a lift after their nightmare start to the new season.I am absolutely buzzing Dowson told reporters. Whether Bale’s return ends up being a “Hero’s Return” will be up to debate when the season ends but what is not up for debate is the fact that he has written his name in football history book. Welcome, Gareth!
